Anyone put a bimini on a C25 Tall Rig? With the boom being a foot lower on the tall rig, there doesn't appear to be any clearance for a bimini. I would like to utilize the genoa track to make the bimini movable, but the height and clearance for the boom is the trick. Please help.
Click on the link below and it will bring up a recent discussion concerning biminis on tall rig Catalina 25's. Mike Vaccaro has a somewhat detailed account of his bimini installation.
I bougth the stock bimini from Cat. Direct - it fits perfectly - on my boat I installed it on horizontal slides outside of the cockpit. Will upload a photo if needed.
I live in the Florida panhandle and really need the bimini I have on on my TR. That's why I sail all summer with a reef in the main. However, that is not ideal by far. The standard reef point is below the second sail slug. The sail is significantly shorter (and flatter!) than it needs to be to clear the bimini. This winter I'm going to have a second reef placed just below the the first sail slug. That will make the reefed sail bigger (and fuller).
