OK, I have installed my speed transducer and now I need to fish the cable aft so that I can attach it to the speed meter in the cockpit. It looks like you might be able to run it straight down the bilge. Or perhaps down the starboard side through the gallery. What is the best way to go??? Thanks, Steve Steakley Moon Chaser #385 WK
Steve I used a fish tape that was very stout when running the cable to my transducer. I was able to run the line straight back under the water tank and floor. I have a narrow space above the waterballast tanks and under the sole.
I ran mine along the port side of the boat beneath the settees, under the head area and back up through the rear port access port (behind the wet locker). My control head is mounted on the port side of the cockpit on the cabin wall.
Hi Steve I ran mine down the starboard side of the boat, into the galley area, up either through the metal tube (If there is room) or just behind it, up to where the electrical panel is, then over to where I mounted the instruments. A good electricians "fish" is very helpful for this! This is where I mounted mine: <img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b2d634b3127cce9ff104d9e0c10000001410" border=0>
The instruments were too deep & they were sticking through the inside wall, so this is what I did inside the cabin to cover them up....
Steve, I it easiest to run the cables for speed and depth aft (from the thru hull mountings under the V-berth)between the floor and the top of the water ballast tank, then up behind the electrical switch pannel on the starboard side and fished them to the starboard rear cabin wall as another sailor showed in his photo. I have an Autohelm bidata intrument and like it. Brad
