Stopped by my dealer yesterday and looked at the 2003 C250. Major differences that I noticed are 1) the companionway hatch is now made fiberglass with a nonskid surface and a small port light (non-opening) and 2) the gas tank compartment lid is now hinged. The dealer said that Catalina is building the hull the same for either winged keel or water ballast. The shrouds are attached inboard like the wing keel.
Does anyone know if Catalina is making a special price available to those of us with the old style hatch and how complicated the installation would be? I never liked the plexiglass hatch and this sounds like a good idea.
what is wrong with what we already have? i think it is pretty nice! we get alot of light through it and it looks pretty cool too! thank god we have a boat at all. we shouldn't be complaining about anything, dont you all think?? think about all our friends that don't have a boat at all...
I hope Catalina looked into a new system to raise the C.B. This problem (cable snapping)is getting worse, It happened to me and every wb250 boat I run into!! Seems like it happens more than they like to acknowledge. For $25-30k we shouldn't have such an issue!!!! I know this topic is beat up but UGH!!!!!
