Anyone know of a site that would permit free uploads of sailing videos? Does this site have sufficient storage space for sailing videos? It would be good to post a few videos of the Catalina 25 and 250 under sail - especially for those who are researching this boat.

Hey Alan,

Allowing uploads like that would be cost prohibitive. Storage is cheap, but not that cheap.

Put then on YouTube and link them in this forum. Like this.

Gives us and people researching this boat the opportunity to discuss the video in depth.

Although hosting the videos would not be cheap. Would the association consider adding a web page promoting Capri 25, C25 and C250 sailing videos that have been posted on You Tube and other such sites? I would think it would be as helpful as the galleries or even better. I know one thing that I offered on another subject is to take pictures and maybe a video of my launch.

Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions. As you noticed, I've not become a regular on You Tube yet.

I like the idea of having links on this site to Catalina 25/250/Capri sailing videos. What better way to showcase a nice boat.

Honestly, a movie from the perspective of "on the boat" is boring. I have had several on my site and seen many others, boring. The only on board video I have ever seen that was interesting was the Capri 25 spinnaker broach.
http://homepage.mac.com/fhopper/iMovieTheater73.html boring
http://homepage.mac.com/fhopper/iMovieTheater82.html better but only if you care.

All anyone has to do is create a 'catalina 25/250/capri' channel on you tube, then anyone with the password - obtained here - can add to it.
While anyone can view the videos.

"movie from the perspective of "on the boat" is boring."

Try this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-PpU8MUbHE Turn down the sound first.

Better music and one of my favorites...

Clam,
I could also have pretty interesting videos from my boat, if my friends were filming from overhead in their helicopter.

The next time I am surfing down 20 foot waves in the southern ocean I will ring up my friends.

Those videos of Volvo racers remind me how nice my little Bay feels in the warm sun of July. And the rockin' trimaran is one of my favorites, too.

May I never self-inflict that much stress while on my boat.

I much preferred the first video and music, I played it loud. The second video's music reminded me of gay people doing roller disco.

Frank,

So maybe SOME sailing videos are boring. Perhaps we should offer a challenge to see what Catalina 25/250/Capri 25 videos should be added to the list of "most exciting videos". There must be some good ones out there. After all, we certainly have our moments on these boats.

You have to admit those ocean 60 race boats sure do get the heart rate up!

Any on-board video punctuated with "Hang On!" should be in the non-boring category.
