Took my camera with me today. Light winds. Istayed close to the marina and took some snapshots. In the batch is the new National Stadium scheduled to open in March 08 ! The bridge between my marina and the Stadium is too low for me to go under and....I have only seen that bridge opened on rare occurrences.
That's the USCG Headquarters to the right of my marina. On the left (not in photo) is Fort McNair. There is no shortage of military and Home Security activities in this region. Directly across from marina is the Anacostia Naval Station. After that is the Bolling Air Force Base, NRL, etc, etc.


Below is the Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument


Below is two photos of the Stadium. In the first...there is another Natl Landmark...



About 5 or so blocks past the marina is where I work ...

Nice Pics.
Now that they have a new stadium, all they need is a ball team.

Interesting to see the Washington Monument from the water. I spent a couple months in your area many years ago taking some College Courses.
