After getting alot of good info. from fellow members, I tackled the job. No where near as hard as I thought it would be. After removing teak plugs at top and bottom of post and removing screws, I jacked up post just enough to make loose and pulled it out going aft and to starboard. Used severely rotted old ones to make rough template using 1/4" plywood, then fitting that to good fit using sanders. After "cheap" templates were near perfect, I traced them out on 1/2" double sided teak faced plywood. Did a bit of fine tuning, 3 coats of Sikkens light and 1 coat of Clear. Installed and refitted trim pieces that I had carefully removed and sanded down. Put them on w/ hot glue, sanded for clean joint fits. Well worth the time and effort. ABRAXIS
I'm about to replace my forward bulkheads. When you removed the bulkhead, did you have to secure any of the brackets/mounts that were bolted onto the bulkheads while the bulkhead was removed?
Fleet. If you mean the upper chainplates, I removed them after measuring bottom bolt holes down from deck and in towards center of boat from spot on hull that I marked with a level.Same with deck to bulkhead brackets, flush with cabin top and measured in from hull. Found that "old bulkhead holes" matched very close even after years of deteriorating.
