Hi there,
Of course we all have some things to buy for our boats this time of year and want to save some bucks.
This is the best sale time for defender. I'm buying some nicro vents at a good sale price, and also a new pump for the head. (I wish I could pump in more smarts to my head)

What are you going to buy?

$150 worth of bottom paint and $450 worth of other stuff--mostly teak racks for inside the cabin. A friend from VT came down for it, and there were cars from MA, RI, NY, and NJ... I'm 15 minutes away--their annual warehouse sale is quite a scene! (10% off Defender's prices is generally pretty good.)

Dave -
Is the Defender store down in Waterford somewhere? I plan to be in Clinton with the Admiral this Saturday afternoon, and I didn't think Waterford was too much farther down the pike. What exit do I need to take off the I-95?

Defender is in Waterford -- which is 1-30 minutes from Clinton. It is a good event and I have sved tons in past years. Not sure I can get there this year, but if you are near by and need an outboard this this is THE time to buy. Also, excellent prices on electronics. Worth the side trip. As I recall, Thursdays and Saturdays are the mob scene days.

(Avery turns into Great Neck Road.) Tomorrow would be the best day--the weekend will be like an ant farm. Afternoons are best--when some people are leaving so you can park near the warehouse.

Correction... looking at the map, you might as well get off at Exit 75 directly onto US-1 and follow it east to Avery (just past a cemetary on the right).

Yeah, I'm placing a pretty large order for some gear. Defender really is a great place to buy from!

If you need a tender or kicker, there's nothing like this sale... every brand and size on display in a room that could be a basketball arena. Every single thing in their catalog is on sale--if its not on the shelf, they pick it for you. (Of course in the warehouse or from a CT address, you pay sales tax.)

I just ordered the Standard Horizon HX850S Floating Handheld VHF. Tried to get it special ordered through my local West Marine but it's been a month and I'm tired of waiting for them. Woo Hoo! New toys!
