Bamboo was pulled this morning about 9:30. I'm having the bottom painted and thru hulls checked but will clean and wax the hull, replace my bent ladder, repair the lower gudgeon, check the upper and take a close look at the rudder my self.

Rust weeping from the pintle through bolts may not be a good sign.

The bottom was painted in August of 06 my the PO I'm told but I didn't pull the boat or have anyone check the bottom when I bought her. As far as the bottom paint, we get major growth around here. Also I may have made a mistake by having a guy power spray the bottom while in water. Could have blown away the ablative a bit. The guys doing the job didn't seem shocked by the condition. And Bruce I'm going to take a CLOSE look at that rudder, don't want to loose one out the inlet.
Anyway the bottom painting should be done by this afternoon and I'll look at the rudder and thru hulls this week-end.

All Done!! Boy can you feel the difference, much more slickery in the water! The rudder was OK too. Took all the hardware off, cleaned it up, found no damage.

Hi Dave,
I just now caught your post... Bamboo looks much younger than her years... You've got a winner there...
I may be wrong but the yard look's suspicially like 7 Seas...a place where I spent many a day happily working on the old 22...

Hope to see you down this way for some 250 WB sailing someday...you'll just have to watch your head in the cabin..

Hi Bob,
You guessed it, Seven Seas. My local boating guru said that's the only place he'd go so that's where I went. Good folks, very accommodating. With tax the job came to $802.00. I wonder how that compares to prices in other places?
