Been reading this months issue of Sail magazine and came across an article for the regatta in NY harbor to pay tribute to the 9/11 victims.

I will be supporting my buddy (Capt'n B) who is among the participants. If anyone is interested in participating or supporting this effort the website with all info is www.nyharborsailing.com

Frank,
Should be an awesome sight....plus the start of the Around Alone race the next day. Too bad I'm on the other side of the country or I'd make every effort to be part of that gathering!

Frank,

Boy that's about what I need this time of the season...B U T ...it happens also to be the day that I take my C.G. Masters test. 7 to 9 hours of scratching yer head and other body parts trying to remember things that any normal sailor type person should have forgotten

I'll sailing (on vacation) that day & will be there is spirit, but NYC is just a little too far from the lower Chesapeake. I imagine it will be quite a sight - take photos!

Frank,

I've been thinking of this since it's in my neighborhood. However, I've used all my vacation days so I can't sail to the event. I'm wondering if others are interested in participating ashore. Perhaps list members could get together somewhere in Manhattan?

TIA

It seems like Battery Park City is the appropriate place to view the event. There is a great viewing place at the end of the park just before Battery Park. I won’t bring Peregrine down but will be in town that week end. If anyone wants to hook-up use my e-mail listed in my profile.
