Hi guys, just wondering if this is right, doesn't feel like it is. I have standard stainless steel flathead bolts. I thought these were supposed to be allen key bolts?
Also looks like the pivots are the wrong way.

Steve, Yes, your photo shows the correct placement and type of bolts. My info is based on me stopping at the Largo Catalina plant and talking with the C250 line manager about these pieces and the new retrofit downtube for the normal cable turning ball.
I just had the centerboard pin and shims replaced. Also if you can, check the sheave that is just above the c/b where the cable leads down to the board itself. Mine was found to be frozen and the cable was wearing a groove in the sheave that rendered it unusable. It added a lot of friction to the whole cable assembly.
On our boat the pivot is up inside the hull. Just fipped over and bolted in. We have bolts like yours but when you tighten ours they go flush with the top of the bracket in a countersunk hole.
We took our board out when the boat was on stands and after the spacers were added to stop the clunking centerboard it was quite tight to get back in. Needed to tap with hammer & wood block to get them back in place.
See if when you take them out that there is an indent for the pivot point and the other sisde of the holes should be countersunk to take the bolts.
That's what I thought. Saw the new C250 at the Calgary boat show and had a good look at the pivots and saw they were countersunk. Wondered if that was a new design or not. Thanks Peter!
My shims used to look just like yours (worn out). I dropped the keel and reinstalled it using shims made out of margarine tub tops. I was trying to get rid of some keel clunking. I put as many as I could fit and still get the bolts in the holes. I also made the shims really big. Didn't fix the clunk but it looks good.
Steve, Sorry for my earlier post in which I did not catch the pivot pin holders not turned over correctly. There is a recess in the hull for the bulge where the pin is captured. And yes, the holes for the bolts will be countersunk.
When I re-shimmed "Brandy" a few years ago some-one wrote me to put the pin back in the same location as when it came out. Also I cut the heads of 2 I think it was 1/4-20 bolts and used them as guide pins when reinstalling shims and covers.
