My boat broker friend called me just now and sail "Paul, that 1983 c-25 that was $7,900.00 has been reduced to $4,500.00."
I replied, "it's mine, don't tell anyone els."
So then I called my neighbor and said, "Hey man, do you want to steal my Marinette 28." He says, "yes". So I quote him the payoff and he says, "Give me the survey and pictures and I'm on the road to the credit union." So I gave him the survey and pictures and he's down the road.
I'll know tomorow if he can get her. I offered him the boat for my payoff so it's a very good deal for him.
Welcome back from the <b>"Dark Side"</b>, Luke, uh...I mean, Paul! I hope everything works out for you. Now, we can all sleep peacefully tonight knowing that balance has finally been achieved in the universe!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
Wow! Isn't that great! You and your neighbor both get a good deal and both are happy! Why don't you put a provision in your contract that requires your neighbor to reduce speed in his Marinette 28 to "no wake" whenever he comes within 100 yards of your sailboat?
Hey Paul... I hate to be a rainmaker, but why the dramatic reduction (to way below market)? Bad survey?....... <img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

Other than the bullet holes, the boat is okay..ha..ha.
The owner has been relocated to California and doesn't want to leave with the boat unsold.
I'll have a thorough inspection of the boat before the closing.
The boat market here is terrible right now. Now that all the kids are back in school, the season is slowing down.
Look how long it's taken me to sell the Marinette. Those boats usually sell very quickly. By the way, I practically gave my boat away to sell it. Just like the Catalina guy.
<b>ONLY ONE THING STANDS IN THE WAY!</b><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle> The credit union. We will have an answer today. His credit is fine. I'm worried about the age of the Marinette. I gave him my survey which valued the boat at $19,500.00. He's getting her for several thousand less than that.

This is the perfect time of year to go boat shopping, especially if you live in a seasonal area like I do in Michigan. I bought my Cat 25 last September when both the boat market and the economy were not the best. The boat market was so rough last year that I'm almost ashamed to say what I paid for North Star. Anyway, due to this market, I waited until spring to sell the old boat(Venture 25), and I sold it for more than what I paid for the Cat. As a matter of fact, I currently scan the classifieds, drive through marinas, and scour the internet looking for my next boat, because you never know when you will happen upon someone giving away a Catalina 27 or 30!
Hey Paul... Sorry if I did a negative vibe on ya--with no other information, I was worried that you were lovesick... <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> If the deal is legit, you're doing great! Hope your neighbor comes through!

Hey, Paul, You make me feel bad...I bought my '83 Cat-25 at Lake Lanier last Feb and paid $7150 for her. But what a great boat and feel it was a deal considering the equipment and shape of "BellaSara". Bruce
No problem. I agree, if a deal looks too good something might be wrong. I will do a thorough survey.
Hey Bruce,
If the boat you bought is the one I'm thinking of, then you got one that was described to me as "Bristol condition". As I recall it had a lot of gear too.
I was going to look at it but was still stuck to my Marinette.
The one I'm looking at is in good shape but doesn't have as many goodies with it.
No roller furling, original sails, no pop top cover, no bimini, small engine. As long as the basic boat is okay then I'll add stuff over time.
BUT STILL I Wait......no news from my neighbor yet. This is worse than a bad soap opera.
Thanks for the good vibes <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>.
