Cardboard is excellent for a start at projects like this. I have my cardboard as well - used it to get a feel for replacement table dimensions and support options. The original table is approximately 45" X 16". The fold-out extension is a bit shorter and same width. I am consdering a replacement table that is 32-33" long and same width as the original.

I should be able to get up to the boat this weekend and install my modified table. I will take pictures of the shelf/magazine rack that is on the bulkhead and the table in place. It is the final project of the Spring... yeah, I know, but I can dream can't I?
