so I made another table , still a work in progress but hay !
that's my new spin-y table , it spins around the pole . then I have two dowels that hold it in place when sailing .
I wanted it to disconnect from the plate in the top photo . but couldn't get a strong mount .the edson one might work but I don't want to spend $300 on a mount . the wires I plan on moving to the ceiling . the spring came quick this year .
Sean, that is very nice! I also like the power connection being under there. Is the first photo a work table layout for boat projects?
Also, more details and photos please of the three lights up in the bow area and the two diagonal pieces of teak on the hull up in the bow area. Thanks. Great looking table.
I am thinking os doing an article for the November Mainsheet on interior mods (projects to work on over the winter that make cruising better). Your table would be a good thing to include.
thats my extend a berth I put two legs on both sides that fold up . I have the sunbrella to cover it but the 3" foam is going to cost over a hundred . so thats on hold .
The lights are $17 dollar 12 volt lights from Deffender , I mounted them to oak stair case madlen's , then double sided tape to the boat .(maybe a good mod for winter project but use alot of power)
we anchor out ,so we use the lanterns , the 12 volt light only to read the remote or hand held GPS .
The teak I moved the original mounts forward and made a new bord .
now we keep them berth extensions in the front , you can see one in the middle photo
The tables great to push out of the way , instant room , but I still would like to take it off while were sleeping.
Sean, Your table is great.. if I had a wing keel then it would be a must on JD. I like your lateral thinking of moving the seat back teak further fwd and replacing the seat backboard. The original is combersome and I don't think we have ever had anyone onboard sit facing aft. Our foam mattress rolls up fwd and would probably not fit behind the smaller area, but it's worth reviewing just in case. Very nice.
Look at using denim as the cover for the extender cushions.
Looking at your pics reminds me of a mod of mine: I raised the position of our companionway panel's storage so that it's higher on the bulkhead. That made it easier to reach from outside but also increased the storeage area beneath it. (When it's in it's original position, it inhibits putting stuff on the cabin floor to port of the steps a bit.)

thanks Paul , I bought navy sunbrella to cover them . but the 3" foam is almost $100 from deffender . then you have to pay trucking .
and Ill only use 1/2 of it . so Ive been looking for for a cheaper way (walmart). I usually dont work on the boat over the summer . were on a mooring and its tough to get into any projects .
we throw so many pillows and blankets up front we dont even need the back rest any more.

Sean, table looks great. And the flat screen tv, wow! If I had that on mine, I would find any excuse to get in fight with wife and go sleep on boat. Do you have satelite too! Steve A
