Admiral wants a mirror. I suspect there are lots of suggestions out there. I would like to put it above where the extra sink would go. Any suggestions on type, location, mounting? Thanks

Here's one like mine, I really like it. This is an ebay item so I look quick before it's gone. You'll find a lot a lot of listings for these if you search on Google for "nautical porthole mirror". This one is about $40.00, which I think is a reasonable price.

Nice mirror. How did you mount it so that it is vertical and where did you mount it?

Stardog, I have the porthole nautical mirror on the wall in the head.

I dont use it much, but it is nice to have for others, and it complements the boat.

I got the book "The Finely Fitted yacht" by Ferenc Mate it has some pretty cool ideas for small whatnots like a mirror. You may want to check it out if you can find a copy (I don't think its still in print).

I was thinking about cutting a piece of stainless steel sheet and polishing it to a mirror finish.
I was going to mount it under the little shelf over the sink in a way where it would flip up under the shelf, out of the way. I'll have to think about it more.

Hi Steve,

Sorry I didn't respond in a more timely fashion, I wasn't able to get on the forums over the weekend, due to some technical problem, then I was too busy with work. I saw Deric mounted his in the head, I also mounted mine there. I put it on the forward bulkhead, mounted at the proper height for the ladies to put the top down on the lou and use it for a stool. Mine has three screw holes, I used flathead brass screws. If you use brass, you'll want to predrill before putting them in, brass is softer and it's easy to snap off a screw. Wrap tape around your drillbit so you can tell how deep you are into the wood, you wouldn't want to bore a hole all the way through the bulkhead.
