Well, besides being out in a huge storm yesterday and having the cabin get hit pretty hard by the rain, I have found our last (I hope) entryway for H20 to come into the boat.
The damn portlights. I have caulked beyond belief, tried all the gasketry the Catalina Direct has to offer including the inner seal between the glass and the frame, caulked again, took everything off and recaulked and then recaulked again...and they still leak.
I sometimes wonder if I just shouldn't start making filets now to fill in the spots where the windows were..
Does anyone have any suggestions (lets also suppose in your answer that I caulked properly, dilligently, and liberally)
If as you say you caulked properly, dilligently and liberally, and I don't wish to impugn your characterization of your installation ability, then it seems to me that the leak is coming from somewhere else. Am I overstating the obvious? Perhaps. I suffered a similar condition and found the source of the leak to be coming from the mast base. Water found its way along one of the screws, through the cabintop laminate exiting at the middle window. No leaks these past seven years. A person might be so lucky.
Same here, Duane. My port window above galley always leaked, so i rebed (ugh) both salon port windows. Still leaked. I also had water under the port settee and in the port side lamp(!) and couldn't figure it out. I recently rebed my chainplates and the leaks have not been back since. Good luck tracking it down. I remember on person on the list had an idea to find were leaks along bulkheads and gunwhales by using a chalkline to mark where the water came and went. Maybe a variation will work for you.

Both Port lights leak, I have caulked frame to boat and frame to glass and still leak. In dry weather we ran a hose on lights and they leaked we were very careful to contain the flow to exactly the lights. This would take the cabin top, mast base and chain plates out of the equation. I have sat and stared at the lights trying to figure out where and how the water is getting in.
