The association is managed by officer volunteers that were elected by the membership.
At the recent officers meeting, the closure time of nominations for the election was discussed by the officers of the association, and set at that time to be 1800 EST.
The minutes for that meeting were approved for publication last night and were posted in the members area September 08 Telltale this morning.
I barrowed these words from Paul our Web Editor and Canidate for Secratary, I personally have a life to worry about and we do the best we can without tring to critize others! I have kept quite untill now about Peregrine - #4762 Mainsheet Editor 2002- 2006 because I didn't want to rattel any more Blog emails that he sends to the officers when he disagree with us! It is a nuicance, it is embarrasing when our children read them and I now can only say one thing, and this is very personal. It is my WELL INFORMED belief that allowing this kind of member to become an officer of this association will be wrong and filled with enough B. S. that it will drive away members and future officers. His name will remain on the Ballot because of the by laws, but there is nothing in the by laws that says I or any other member has to vote for him, support him, or even like the individual. I sure don't!
I have always liked John Gisondi (Peregrine), personally, and respected his previous service as Mainsheet editor, but since that time, his conduct on this forum does not, in my opinion, contribute in a beneficial way to the Association, for reasons I do not understand. For that reason, I respectfully suggest that the members cast their votes for one of the other candidates for the office of Secretary.
I heartily agree with both Bill & Steve. John G has caused much grief to the Officers over the last few years - I know of at least one Commodore who resigned because of his harassment.
As of 1800 today Nominations are now closed the ballot will be posted soon with voting instructions. The Ballot will be in the members section of this web page. Paul (webmaster) will post when availuable

I agree with you all as well. I know of at least 2 officers that had to be talked out of resigning and a handful of others over the past six to eight years that have had similar issues.
