We have a Force 10 Sea Kettle grill hanging on the back rail. We are disappointed in the unit as it has a lot of trouble staying lit if there is any wind at all. So, the quest is on to replace it. What propane grills do you all recommend? We are looking for a small-medium size and staying lit is a requirement!

We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.

We've been pretty happy with our Magma, and it's lid is movable to block wind.

I also have the Magna but got the big one on sale at WM. That way I can put on a pan of chili and cook my food. I have used it 4 or 5 times and it works great, with no problems staying lit with wind. I always have 2 propane bottles handy, one is new of course.
It still starts with a push of the button, unlike my home BBQ that I need a match to start!

We've got a Dickenson Sea-B-Q, bought at WM on sale. Had it five years and I am still impressed by it. Stays lit in pretty much any wind, has a good release system for storage. We stow it down below between the keel stub and the port settee. It came with a blue cover that matches our sail cover. Because it's a WM item there are lots of parts and accessories available for it. It is also a good BBQ to take to the beach.
Best thing about it is that it cooks very well. We gunkhole and BBQ almost everyweekend - other than sailing, my favorite things to do are drink beer and BBQ. This BBQ does as good a job cooking as my big 60,000BTU 800 sq. in. monster at home on my deck.

I think we have the big one as well, nice starting system and the flame control is handy to get to so you can easily change the heat setting if necessary. We got the Pacific Blue cover and the bolt on arm for mounting it onto a stanchion. It's irritating that they charge extra for mounts, but if you wait around for a sale it's not so bad. I see them all the time on Craigslist as well for less than half price. If you do get one, pay attention to the instructions regarding putting it together, they're not kidding about it falling apart & losing pieces over the side. Fortunately I didn't learn the hard way, but it was a near thing.

Here's how much grub you can get on it:

I second that! Corn looks great David. I love getting the grill marks on them. And does anyone notice how good your food tastes after cooking on our BBQ's. Watch out Emeril.
Randy, I might suggest you re-think the size issue and get a large. A bunch of us may just come up your way and be real hungary.

Here you go Randy: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/boa/849326107.html

You guys are completely missing the pork satay that's on there with the marinated chicken & corn. A little bit of peanut sauce with cucumber to dip them in? Now that's good eatin'! That was a great dinner, there was even enough left over to give the hound some special treats.

I'll be right over!!

I'm not sure what the brand name of my grill is but it had a hard time with the wind. I did manage to get my lobster and sweet potato cooked though, just had to keep an eye on it and relight a couple of times.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ......... grilled sweet potato!
