I looked through tech tips to try and make sure this is not a repeat. I have never posted pictures so I hope this works. I don't know how we would get along without these modifications.
This is a 7 foot long drawer that has multiple divisions. the first one is where we put trash. Here is a picture that shows its length as well as my sleeping son. This would not work with a swing keel. The next pictues show storage shelves attached to bulkhead. The table folds up and covers the shelves. Table was shortened.
Nice work Benge. Do you have any drawings, sketches or dimensions you'd like to share? I am really interested in the "pantry cabinet". What year is your C25?
David Pilcher, no I am not the new owner of Compass Rose. About four years ago I purchased my "Compass Rose" C25 TRFK sail # 6029 from a gentleman in Ohio. He named her Compass Rose and I liked the name so we never changed it. Later I joined this great organization and found another C25 named Compass Rose. But thanks for the welcome anyhow.
I bought the boat 4 years ago from Ed And Vera of Las Alamos NM. Ed did the work not me. I just wanted to share. I will try and get some dimensions for you. I can't say enough about how much it improves the boat. This is a 1987 wing keel. The drawer does make the quarter birth a single but there is room to stuff sails, and duffel's with clothes when underway and we store our cockpit cushions under the drawer when they are not in use. Ed also built shelving under the v-berth with light weight construction. In addition to adding two boards that can be put between the main cabin seats to make nearly the whole cabin a bed. You can comfortably sleep 5 to six people on board. I wouldn't want to be one of them, but you could and we have. If you look in the picture with my son sleeping you can see the aluminum piece that the drawer slides on. it is two right angles one horizontal piece is fastened to the boat the other slides into a groove in the side of the drawer. The aluminum runs full length on both sides.
