I am looking to mount a float switch in the bilge of my 03 250WB. I am thinking 1/2" screws will do the job as some of their length will be taken up by the mounting bracket of the switch. Does anyone know the thickness of the hull beneath the bilge? Or better yet has anyone out there done this?

On my WB, I glued it to the floor with Marine Scilicone.

Steve,
I have used good silicon adhesive on the holder for the pump itself with limited success...another words halfway through the season it pops off.
Dave, thanks for your detailed instructions, but your bilge is much different than on the centerboard boat!
thanks for you inputs!

Sorry--I can't IMAGINE drilling holes "halfway" through the bottom. I'd try every possible adhesive first, maybe starting with 3M 5200, which is considerably less permanent than epoxy--for the inevitable time you'll need to change out the switch.

5200 did it...no holes!
The two part epoxy I tried before failed so I was dubious, but the 5200 seems to be holding, at least after the first 6 hour sail!
Thanks for all the feedback!
