Hi, My trailer axle hubs have me stumped. The trailer is the factory trailer for my C250WB. There is a flat cap protruding about one inch from the center of the axle bearing housing. How do I know when each axle needs greasing. And how do I grease each axle hub? I am used to trailer axle grease fitting where you just have to stick a grease gun on the zert and fill it up. What do I do with this settup? Thanks - Roger
Is the cap removeable? I have a factory issued trailer for my 98 250 wb- dual axle and all 4 wheels have zerts, which I cover with the rubber boots to keep them clean. Can you post a picture?
there's a thin cover on that stainless piece , when its full it pops out and you can see blue on the edge . it works its way back in as the grease gets worked into the bearings . when you don't see the blue anymore you need to grease it .
take off the thin cover and there's a grease fitting inside .
Sean, Thanks for the info. I'll check it out tomorrow and see if I can pull the caps off as you say. I just didn't want to ruin anything and use too much force on the caps to get them off. I'm sure there will be grease zerts under the caps like you say. Like you say, the caps are protruding about an inch, so I'm sure that means there is still grease in there. I'll have to wipe off the edge of the caps so I can see the blue. Roger
