I suppose I shouldn't persue this but---EH. Since this forum change took place I've been required to type in my password and screen name each time I wanted on. Perhaps that's why I've been on so little or had nothing to contribute, either or. Recently all that changed and I was on without the secret stuff. Did I hit some special button unbeknownst to me? Or was there a change in protocol?

Perhaps I shouldn't mention the change lest it change once again.

Val: it was part of an evil conspiracy by the Society of C25 Swing Keel Lovers. Now you've managed to bypass our sinister plot!

Curses! Foiled again (and a winged foil at that)!

That's not it.

It was Donald Rumsfeld and John Ashcroft secretly veiwing our forum to make sure none of us are going to sail a nuke here from Iraq.

Why does the postman carry binoculars now...huh!

I think I'll watch Dr. Strangelove tonight. I still don't get it.

Side note: The waitress who overheard those arab guys is from my current hometown, Cartersville, GA. Small world eh.

th,th,th,th,that's all folks,

Val,

When you log onto the website, Windows is supposed to ask you if you want it to remember your name and password. If you click "yes," then it should automatically appear whenever you open the website. Because Windows is (with apologies to Bill Gates) imperfect, it doesn't always work that way. That is a process that should be done by the software on your computer, however, not by the website software.

You are correct in thinking that it might stop just as mysteriously as it started.

We've got to get this fixed - I've missed your comments!

A thought - do you have your computer set to accept cookies?

I'm pretty sure that if you don't log out, then you don't have to log in. I just close the window out when I'm done. But you do have to accept cookies. I like chocolate chip !

I'm glad someone (other than myself) has broached this topic as I have forgotten, on occasion, to log out/off. So we don't really have to log off each time and nothing goes crazy? (like our politicians) Ever noticed that the "opinion polls" only ask around 500 people what they think about US going to war? They didn't ask me and I'd prefer we not go to war as my son just had his 18th Bday and will be registering. I served my time during the Vietnam "police action" but this new kind of war scares me big time!!!
When the generals/admirals/etc. say they can't "win" this one in 2 weeks with those million dollar rockets, that we will be killing lots of innocents and our troops, too, and that we'll be there for a long, long time, what the heck is the W. administration thinking (are they)? OIL is the reason for this conflict and Bush and Cheney and friends will stand to profit big-time by getting the middle east under control. What about the future generations of Americans? Are they going to be safer after this war? I doubt it very much. And that also worries me since I'd like my kids to be safe and able to bring up their kids in a sane world. (Opps! Passed the maximum verbiage for this site) Sorry. [Stepping down from the podium]

.....and besides, in few more posts I make skipper and then maybe our government will pay attention when I say "no!" to war.
I think I'll just go sailing....oh, I forgot...I need to keep working to pay more taxes so we can afford the war.
I also must get my two through college starting next September. Sheesh! I'm thinking I should just sell the house and live on the boat. Could be cheaper.

Hey, Val. You're about to pull your boat and I will be putting mine back in the local lake again after a very hot, hot, hot summer, and smoggy, too! Around here the best sailing is in the winter because it is cool. So in the summer we have taken to traveling in our trailer to the mountains (Sierras) and northern coast. Someday, when we're retired, we'll relocate up north somewhere (like the Columbia Gorge area) so it will be cool sailing. Probably 8 years more, though. Somebody's got to keep the cash rolling into the government coffers.
Probably looking at mid-October launching date at this point.
Too much school work right now anyway....

I love the comments about the war. I've been telling people to watch "The Princess Bride" again. . . the scene where Cary Elwes and Wallace Shawn are trying to decide which cup of poison to drink. Shawn points over Elwes' shoulder and says, "What's THAT?" When Elwes turns, Shawn switches the goblets.

The economy is in the sewer, bin Laden is still at large, Afghanistan is a mess, Israel is imploding, the ice caps are melting. . . "Hey, what's Saddam doing?"

Then Shawn says, "There are two things you never do: Get involved in a land war in Asia, and wager with a Sicilian when death is on the line."

Welcome back, Val!

Hey Brooke,

Don't forget about the ozone layer shrinking.

I'm still waiting on my Captain Ron DVD.

Good news...I received an offer for one of my listings today. I think we can make it work.

Grog for all if she closes.

Paul
