We have 3 snowstorms back to back this coming week, all courtesy of you.

While we appreciate you sharing the wealth and all that, in the future please keep your D@*mned snow.

You don't see us sending our snow your way, do you?

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Yeah, well if you guys would quit pushing those arctic fronts down on us, Denver would have weather like San Diego!

Hey Chris, I'll take all the snow Colorado can spare. With overall lake levels in the Great Lakes being down for a good number of years, every winter I pray for non-stop snow, especially in the U.P. (Sorry Yoopers!), and non-stop rain in the early Spring.

Check out the temps tomorrow.
With a south wind 15 to 20...
The boat is still tied at the end of the dock.
And I have the day off.
What to do... What to do...

We're supposed to have highs in the upper 70's Saturday with 10 - 15 also. Can't wait to go out. It'll be the first time in a couple of months that I've had a chance to go!

Gary,

I've been wondering where you've been. We went out a couple of weeks ago and stopped by to see if you were interested in coming. I've actually had a few weekends off lately. Ended up being a great day for it. I tried to go out twice this week but the fog was too bad.

We'll be mostly out of town until New Year's but maybe we'll get a sail in the first week of Jan. I'll keep stopping by. . . still got a cold beer for you on these warm Texas winter days .

While we've had weather in the teens recently, we woke up this morning to 63º, strong winds, and drizzle rain. It is now 64º. If only it was sunny (sigh)!

I'm really sorry you guys are having all the weather. Here in Daytona Bch we'll be about 80 over the week-end with 5 mph winds out of the west. It just sucks about the wind but I'll just have to make the best of it

I just got in from lunch. a dozen of us trudged over to Jack Astors through the snow. It is fallin ghorizontally. My wife called and left a message that I should hole up in town tonight because the roads aren't driveable. Kids are already home from school.

We got a couple cords of firewood delivered yesterday, and its out back under a tarp - if the tarp blows off that wood will be very very not fun to stack.

An on-site coordination meeting had to be rescheduled this afternoon because the contractors couldn't get their equipment to the site, and none of us white-hats would be able to get the measurements and details we need anyway with the snow coverage. I may just go to the mall for the afternoon and get my Christmas shopping done.

BTW - You know that arctic cold front you were talking about... its on its way.

Hi Bren,

Sorry I missed you. I was planning on sailing both days last weekend but it was too windy one day and I felt like I was coming down with a cold the other day. Because of the cold I was having off and on periods of vertigo so I didn't think it would be too bright to tempt fate by going out in the bay solo.

I'm planning on going out on my boat tomorrow. Let me know if you'll be around and I'll share a beer with you.

I believe the unusual Southbound jet stream is an attempt by the Americans to pull in Canada accross the border to gain access to our oil.

We "yoopers" - Upper Peninsula of Michigan, have had our first day above 10 degrees in a week. It reached 19 by noon today. Tonight it's back down to 0 degress, 5 more inches of snow - we've already had 24+ on the ground, and winds to 30 mph. I've shoveled or blown snow every day the past three weeks. Winters only just begun and I'm sick of it. I'm usually content with skiing and hockey this time of year but this year I'm already thinking about May, boat prep, and launch. I need to move south......but not too far south.

Al - we always have room for another sailor in Central Texas! 81 degrees today and lovely sunshine.
However, one of those darn Canadian Arctic Expresses is on its way for Sunday - 28 forecast for Sunday night...
BTW we had winds of 25 gusting to 40 on Saturday. My crew was going to race the boat while I was in Jamaica. When the waves were breaking over the bow and reaching the cockpit they decided that discretion was the btter part of valor. (Frank - maybe we DO need a 3rd reef )

Gary,

I've got to run by the marina briefly mid-morning but by afternoon the 'holiday travel odyssey' begins. . . off to the parents, in-laws, work, in-laws and more work before finally coming home New Year's Eve. I'm already tired just in anticipation!

Might catch you in the morn' when I run by the boat. If not, have a Merry Christmas and we'll try to connect after the 1st.

PS: Yeah. . . you don't want to be in 40+ winds, on the bay, solo with vertigo!! Hope you're feeling better!

It was 3" of ice on the ground all around Galesburg today. Old Disco wants a pair of "ice skates" so we can tack across the frozen corn fields by my barn...
