I thought sailors were the good guys: http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/boa/1034754782.html Guess I was wrong, this has been going on on NY CL for weeks now, about boats either for sale or for offered for partnership.
Craigslist is a real crap shoot at best. I have sold two boats (an Opti and a rowing canoe) as well as an outboard on CL. The outboard brought a very weird bunch of people forward, one insisting that I stole the engine from him (I had paperwork, but . ..) while the opti was sold to a neighbor, who was and is a friend. What I have learned is that the post needs to be very clear and detailed enough to separate the tag-sale types from wasting your time. However, I also think that some people are targeting CL for scams both by answering ads for things they have no interest in and posting "stolen" listings to get interaction. Like so many things in life, just be careful out their!
