David, I have always gotten my orders from them pretty fast. Had we known of a delay, I could have picked up your order and shipped myself. Anyway, hope you are happy with items. I have never had one complaint.

Still no response from marine parts depot.

I have contacted pay pal and submitted a dispute reluctantly. I'm pretty sure it's a web glitch, but as I cannot contact the company by phone or email I have little other choice.

Was hoping to work on the bimini update before our haloween trip to Biscayne Bay.

I'm guessing that their local voicemail box is full too. (if it's a different box from the one I called.)

Should you get the chance.
My order id is yhst-17525248830734-25734.

Paul.

Thanks Steve,
I had to process a pay pal claim.

Weird thing is that I got an email with their latest sale ad!

Go figure.

My stuff arrived today. The cam cleats came with stainless steel fasteners, however they are ??metric?? and the diameter of somewhere between a 6-32 and an 8-32. I cannot imagine a tiny ss machine screw like that is enough for a cam cleat for 3/8 - 7/16 line.

Any Ideas? Heavier machine screws?

BTW} the Free shipping gimmik is there every day and it always says "Free Shipping ends on todays date".

Really appreciate the extra effort!

Thanks!

Steve,

I just received another order from these guys today, and it was missing a part. It's a fairly large part that would require a box ( http://www.marinepartdepot.com/ststspmabr.html ), and I only received the small parts in the Priority Mail envelope. I would hope that another box is coming, but their system automatically sends me an email when they ship a package, and this envelope was the only one they notified. So I have a feeling I'm going to have a similar difficulty as Paul.

If you managed to get any special contact information for this company, or have an idea of the best times to attempt to call, please let me know.

Steve, you should ask for a customer service commission!

Steve,

Thanks for your offer to help. Although I don't have my money back yet, I think I have the situation in hand.

I waited all week and the missing item did not arrive in a separate package. I called multiple times each day and got the same "box full" message. I emailed three times to every email address I could find on this guy's websites. His number shows up as a cell phone, so I texted him twice.

Since about a week has passed and he missed his deadline to respond, I called my credit card company. They are going to credit my card for the exact amount of the missing part.

This guy has good prices and usually ships. But he definitely has something to learn about quality customer service. My guess is that he is in China most of the time and uses a 3rd party fulfillment service that is screwing up. If you decide to use him, DEFINITELY DO NOT USE PAYPAL. It will be so much easier having your own credit card company reverse the charges than working through their arbitration process.

Here are a few other interesting things I learned along the way:

This website shows where he gets his cheap Chinese stuff from:

http://panjiva.com/Turquois-Inc/2143932

Did you know he also sells heat lamps and massage equipment?

http://turquoisinc.com/index.html

Through some other internet searches I discovered some other people with delivery problems. It's always the same story - no response to email, no answering phone calls, voicemail full:

Rick, sorry to hear that. I had ordered several times and never a problem but thats been some time ago. I will call him again just to report poor service. He does know who we(Catalina 25 Association)are when I called last time, so maybe advising him of the several problems will do some good as I will let him know he is losing business. Something no business can afford these days.

I need some shackles and swivels but I am a little leery now as many of you have had problems with your orders. So I am heading over to WM for reg. galvanized stuff even though they have 30% off and free shipping.

FYI, one benefit of this guy's unresponsiveness is that he does not challenge you if you have your credit card company do a chargeback for a missing item. That's what I did when he shorted me, and I have not heard anything from him. So as long as you use a charge card (DON'T USE PAYPAL), you have protection.

I didn't have a bit of trouble with these guys and would consider shopping there again.

My ONLY issue is it's 6-8 days FedEx to SW Florida.
