The Mast does not appear to have a Bottom piece to it...sealing up the bottom of the mast where it meets the mast step (what is this called...a boot? A foot?).
Does everyone have a covering over the bottom of their mast...am I missing something???
No, a boot seals (sometimes) a keel stepped mast where it passes through the cabin top to keep water out of the cabin, not to protect the mast. A deck stepped mast does not need a boot.
Also, some sailboat models do have a piece on the bottom of the mast, often curved to aid in raising/lowering the mast. C-25's do not have that. your mast is most likely open at the bottom.
