In order to get a flatter foot to my self-tacker, I moved the port block inboard and aft, connecting it to my Cunningham block, then aft to a cam cleat just forward of the winch, which now is just for my main jib sheet.

Frank--forget the C-30... What you need is an Alerion 28 with the Hoyt Boom.

I don't get it... can you enlighten me? All the self tacker's I've seen have a block at the bow, running to a traveling black in front of the mast and some have a little mini boom to control sail shape, some don't. I see two jib sheets in the photo. I also see a second set of jib sheets mounted on standing blocks on top of your halyard deck organizers. How does your system work?

The blue line is my conventional jib sheet, remains attached and functions normally. The white self tacking sheet runs from the starboard clutch block, up through a block at the clew, then down to the port block, and back to a cam cleat. To return to the standard sheet I simply pop the self-tacking sheet from the cam, and draw out the jib sheet from either the port or starboard winch depending on which tack I'm on.

I'll tell ya what Frank needs. She'll take care of tacking just fine.

I'm in love! But she's not looking at me. Give me her phone number and/or e-mail address IMMEDIATELY!! Is that her boat...or her "mate's"?
BTW, she's almost a dead ringer for my late aunt, Frances Farmer. Big film star in the '30's. Check her out on www.imdb.com. (As well as me, too)

I knew you'd like her! Definitely has Hollywood glamour in her eyes doesn't she? She sure does look like Frances Farmer. Same kind of glare.

However I was talking about that jib boom she is leaning on. If you even noticed it!
