online for $19.99! I bought one to supplement airflow from the overhead AC unit and it is quiet and puts out a good bit of air. Best of all, 2000 hour motor and .4 amp draw..

OK, I should have posted that when we installed our drop in AC unit such that we could survive the summer, I bought an occilating fan from Wally world. Lasted all of 7 weeks. It still runs but is spitting out red stuff which I assume is rust and makes a horrible noise when turned on. We have two Hellas on board and they have lasted since way before we bought this boat, so there is some value in the "marine" label for some things.
In the last two plus years of full time life aboard and in the water, we have had countless non marine flashlights fail, electric shavers, handheld gps units, blender, drill, and our ahem... battery operated wedded bliss aids to navigation - that came with the boat of course! The salt air et al will infact wreak havoc on a lot of stuff.
Did I tell you about my experiment with a regular AC unit from Wally world that was only $150 with a remote? Compared to the West Marine $999.00 unit it sounded like a bargain. Throw it up on top, bag it in with some canvas and eh Voila'!!! After considerable work I proudly powered it up ready to bathe myself in the promise of cool nights and bearable days. 8 days later it sputtered and died. We had quite a little ceremony for it at the Walmart returns department and then we humbly perused the WM website. Reconditioned units $600! SOLD! We have not turned it off ever since - knock on boat.
