My recently purchased 1985 Catalina 25 (#4795) has the original seward alcohol stove. The plunger is seized and broken and the control knobs are frozen shut. I want to replace it. Any recommendations? Would like to keep alcohol for safety. It looks like the Origo 3000 drop-in is the closest available to original. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

welcome to the group! I recall in the tech tips section there were photos of an Origo stove on a C25.

if you decide to fix the "curtain burner" i have the original owners manual and could fax or mail it, as i have done with others in the group.

Thanks for the welcome... Further research has shown the Origo will work. In my '86 Catalina 22 I put in a one-burner portable butane stove. So far, I have not been able to find a similar 2-burner for the '25. Think I'll stay away from the curtain-burner, but I appreciate the offer on the data.
