Has anyone replaced their forward hatch with a Acrylic lens in an alum frame? If you did what manufacturer and model did you use?

Dick, I have not done this but if you figure out the part that does it please post the results. This would be a great mod to let even more light into the cabin.

Dick,

I believe the C250 2008 Model changed the forward hatch to acrylic.
You can see pictures on the Catalina website.
http://www.catalinayachts.com/yachts.cfm?act=model&id=16

You might contact either Catalina Yachts or Catalina Direct about the manufacturer and model.

I just sent Catalina an e-mail requesting weather the new hatch will fit on the older boats. I let you know as soon as I get a reply.

Here is Catalina's reply

Richard,
Below is the info on the hatch that we have used here in California on the C 22. I am not certain if it is the same hatch they are using on the C 250 MKII but I have cc'd Warren to see if he can confirm it. There are many different size hatches available. I am sure that one of them will work for you application.

Good Sailing,

We have the tinted, acrylic hatch up front, and we really like it.

The manufacturer is BOMAR, and I'll see if I can find a manufacturer's part number next time I'm visiting the boat.
