Just bought a used working jib from Minnie's in So Calif. I thought it would come with hank ons, but it arrived with snap ons -- that is 15 bands of dacron that wrap around the forestay and snap back onto the luff. Foot: 10 foot; luff 26.
Never saw such a headsail. Is it going to be ok for my Cat 25? Should I be concerned about its holding power? Will it hoist and come down as well as one with bronze hanks on's? I do have a dowser for it.
I've seen them before, on an Etchell, a racing boat about 30'. I sailed fairly often on it, and don't remember them ever being a problem. The first time I saw them, I had the same reservations about them.

That's what I was thinking, that the sail might be designed for a boat with roller furling.
