I am beginning the process of putting together a spinnaker program for the Wench Wagon. I have yet to locate a pole or hardware to make a pole but beginning the process of rigging. My question is this:
Does anyone have a suggestion for cleating the halyard at the mast? And if so, what did you use and do you have a picture. Currently, I have the main and jib halyards run internally and back through deck organizers to rope clutches and had planned to run the fore guy and topping lift back as well. My plan was to cleat the halyard at the mast a la J22 style. However, I am having trouble deciding how to do that and where to do it. If the foredeck can be there hoisting the sail, that frees up elbow room in the cockpit for the middle guy and the skipper. The halyard for the spin is external all the way. Thanks for your help!

hey feel free to check out the rig on my boat, I'm right next to you. Step on, take a look. One thing that I love (and that Keelan replicated on his boat) is having the spin pole attached to the mast and having the up haul and down haul already rigged. It makes it so much easier to set in a hurry. My uphaul and down haul run back to the cockpit but his are done at the mast which is fine.
My spin hal is kind of hinky ever since I put the roller furling on and it needs some work but essentially Keelan and I have the same rigs now and it's very efficient.
Peter, isn't your spin halyard internal? You know how, on the 27 (Keelan's Boat) during the spin set you are in the cockpit trying to hoist and its really crowded? That is what I am trying to avoid. I finally have my halyards running back to rope clutches! We went out last night and had great breeze. That new balanced rudder is a MASSIVE improvement! I plan on rigging my pole like that to be stored on the mast... I just have to find a pole first!
Thank you Mr. Wolff, I have seen that and it is helpful. My question is a little more technical though. What is the working load need for a spinn halyard on a Catalina 25? That would point me in the right direction. Thanks!
Hey Darren - did you get my email about the spinnaker pole I have? The wife is ready for the bimini... Also, found $40 laying your cockpit Sunday night and just slid into your cabin.
