Britian's 1 billion $ newest stealth nuclear submarine ran aground today during sea trials and had to be towed.

Her name? The "HMS Astute".

Can't believe it... this is too funny

Wonder what kind of negotiation went on before the tug put a line on her... commission/salvage/fee/cost/time&material on a billion is, let me see, more zeroes than I have on my calculator!! Some oepsie will loose a few stripes

It reminds me of a time 20-30 years ago. My brother-in-law (at the time) was a sonar operator on some kind of a Navy hydroplaning attack ship. There were 2 of them in the Navy at the time. One of them, the one my brother-in-law was on, ran aground somewhere on the east coast. He was sure to call home and tell his mother that he WAS NOT on the sonar at the time.
