John the two masted schooner in the begining and sailing left to right is the HERITAGE. I have sailed on her 16 times. She is 96ft on deck,145ft overall,25ft beam, and draws 8ft board up 18ft centerboard down. The Captain Douglas Lee and his wife Captain Linda Lee built her and launched her 1983. She is fast. The three masted schooner is the Victory Chimes. It used to be owned by the owner of Domino's and was called Dominoe Effect. It is sloooow.

The Victory Chimes has a long history cruising the Maine coast. When I was young (late 50's-mid 60's) it was based in Boothbay Harbor and carried passengers for one week excursions along the coast. No engine, would sail almost to the wharf and have a yard workboat push her safely to dock. I believe in the early 80's she went out of service as she need a major refit. late 80's (or early 90's) was transported/towed to somewhere on the great lakes for a refit. have no clue where she sails today. If I could find my old, old pics I have a bunch of close up snap shot's I took of her under sail taken from various boats during her Maine days. Beautiful reminders of day's gone-by.

I think Kevin goes to Maine to sail the Heritage. From his post, it could be that the Victory Chimes may be there as well.

I actually posted this cuz I was in the mood for the sea chanty.

I wasn't able to view the video from work, but about five years ago I took a schooner trip on the Stephen Tabor, and throughout the week we'd see the Victory Chimes when our paths crossed. She was a cruising schooner that would take guests on week long trips, just like the Stephen Tabor; and she was by far the biggest schooner in the fleet. At the time this picture was taken, the Victory Chimes (and the Stephen Tabor for that matter) did not have engines, but instead used small wooden boats to push them from the stern.

This is her passing by a smaller schooner call the Brilliant.
