Well, my PRETTY PENNY's been for sale now for almost five months beginning last December. She's being brokered by Catalina Yachts in Marina del Rey, but not exclusively. She's also listed on Craig's List (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/boa/2361445514.html) Initial listing price was $17,500, now reduced to #16,500. My rock bottom net is no less than ten grand. To date, not one offer, not even low balls from bottom feeders. If she's not sold by the end of June, I can't afford to keep her AND my "new" '83 C-30. So what would YOU do in this situation? Any and all advice, please. Thank you.

Frank, I am not sure if you had said before that you have tried Ebay? Or perhaps you could donate to a local sailing association. If $10k is your rock bottom, you might want to start even closer to that number. Its expensive owning 2, especially in our area. Is Catalina Yachts, where I bought PiSeas II, at least paying for slip fees?
Good luck.

Frank, I sold mine from this site. My add was changed to a price that did not include the motor ($1000 less). It sold rather quickly, I figured I could sell the motor separately after the boat. I suggest you inventory any other items that you think you could sell separately, determine a fair price for them and reprice the boat clearly stating what is not include, but don't remove anything until a buyer agrees to take it minus the removals. Usually they will want the items when they realize they will need them. Worked for me.
The boat, 2003, went for $16500 and the motor, 2004, went for $1000. I am in Florida, where millions of boats are for sale.

Frank, your broker has seen your boat and knows the local market. Nobody should be in a better position to know the fair market value of your boat. I'd consult him. My guess is that your bottom dollar price is realistic. Perhaps he can get more for it, but not if you scare prospective buyers away by an asking price that is too high. Let your broker guide you. But, now, in the spring, is when buyers are looking for boats. You should work with your broker and develop your plan now, while the market is warming up.

This is a tough market. I've had my C320 sold twice. Both deals fell through...one guy could not get financing and the second found a C30 at the last minute...smaller boat, smaller price. One lead came from a sign on the boat and the other from Craig's List. I too have sold a C25 on this forum. Got to be patient.

No, I'm paying a reduced slip fee, $150.00 per month thru June.
