I'm with Jack, but then I'm a little biased too. I like my vinyl ones that I redrew. They are cheap, look great, you can get them in a color to match your canvas and they can be replaced quick and cheap. The other bonus is, I had another set made in red and put one of them on the back of my truck window, above the name of my boat (also red vinyl). Good luck to you folks though, I wish you well. There was a guy here in town that said he could take the logo I produced and cast metal, then polish or chrome. That would be cool and much sturdier than plastic that suffers from UV.

Following reply was received today from Catalina Yachts: <font color=blue> Steve, If you want to make the old script for the C25 only, go ahead. This is for C25 script only; no other style or size boat. I think you will find it cost prohibitive because that many owners won't want them. We do have the block letter ones for sale through our parts department. Thanks! David Graas - Technical Support </font id=blue>
I'll have a sample of the material which has the white base with a black face made and post pictures and specs in the next week or so.

<font size=2><font face='Comic Sans MS'>I think/hope that we can make this cost effective. They didn’t try nor do they have access to the majority of C25 owners that we have. I would think that if you develop a good product both Catalina Direct and Catalina Yachts will either buy them through you or refer needy owners to you. Maybe we should offer them along with our shirts, hats and burgees on the National’s web site. I want/need a set as soon as… Thanks for doing the work.</font id=size2> </font id='Comic Sans MS'>

I think if David Graas or anyone else from Catalina spent any time on our website they would know that this isn't the case...otherwise this tread wouldn't be so many threads on this topic or have a pink folder so often on the main screen!!....Again I would like to commit to the aforementioned cost prohibitive set.
The "Catalina 25" vintage logo is finally ready for production.
It will look just like the one in the first post of this thread except the base will be white and face will be gloss black. The edges will be straight - <i><font color=red>not</i></font id=red> tapered like the originals. They will also have an adhesive backing.
As I am doing this in my spare time and I don't have any order processing facilities I need to employ KISS to maintain my sanity:
(1) Logos will be sold in pairs <font color=blue><i>only</font id=blue></i> (2) $30* a pair including packaging and 1st class mail for US addresses (those outside the US please e-mail me separately.) (3) Only one version (as described above) will be offered (4) USPS money orders made payable to Steve Madsen, 3281 Maine Drive, Allison Park, PA 15101 <font color=blue>or</font id=blue> via PayPal to madsens@sgi.net
Don't forget to give me your <font color=red>physical mailing address</font id=red> . . . If you supply your e-mail address I'll notify you when it mails.
*I will just break even at this price which includes the sign makers materials, labor and overhead, shipping to me, my inventory carrying, packaging, shipping and travel to USPS. If you have questions, let's post them here to minimize duplicity.
I would also like to buy a pair and I'll throw in a suggestion. Sell them via eBay and sign up for Pay Pal. It's a very convienent way for us to pay you and for you to collect. Add in your cost of overhead to the PayPal cost.
Sell only under the eBay "Buy it now" option and forget the bidding stuff.
I'm buying a lot of stuff on eBay and it is working great.
The Paypal made it easy enough to send you the money while I'm supposed to be working <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>. I'm looking forward to their arrival.
Thanks for all the time you put into this.

My co-owner broke the logos on the boat the other day, what an opportune time to get a new one.. thanks alot steve for your efforts in getting these done! looking forward to recieving it! -m
Business is so slow that my sign maker had another round of layoffs which slowed our order (which I received on 07-Apr-03.) I was going to send an e-mail to that affect when we lost phone service (lots of rain and wind over the weekend here in Pittsburgh.) The lack of the phone service also meant I couldn't go online to print UPS shipping labels. I'm on a pretty noisey line right now so I hope this gets posted. TWO DAYS TO GET VERIZON PHONE REPAIR SERVICE! Phone is scheduled to be serviced on 09-Apr-03. Will print shipping labels and drop off logos at UPS shipping center within 24 hours.
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> Steve, Did you have extra logos made or can your signmaker tool up anytime to produce more? <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
Hi Don, Right now the signmaker and I agreed to produce these in lots of 5 pairs. Just received a fifth order yesterday so the first batch is spoken for. But, as soon as I complete this sentence I'm going to order another five pair . . . should take about a week to receive these.
Had to modify shipping method for these from UPS to USPS. Turns out that preparing your own UPS shipping label online costs (for 1 lb.) about twice as much as a shipper who has their own account (which includes daily pick-up, weekly service charge, etc..) My flat rate price (which includes shipping) didn't take this cost differnce into account - my oversight. I will use a highly ledgible address label to assure delivery. I will still e-mail you when it leaves my possession. I apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused. Thanks for your patience on this first batch . . . "man's best laid plans."
Logos arrived today - Thanks for you good work. (you may want to check with Ed, Maybe this is somthing the association might want to put in the chandlery.?????
Mine arrived yesterday. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> They look great. Not to be dumb about it, but I have the old raised logos completely faded to white on each side of my cockpit. Do I pry these two off and then put the new ones there?
