Lets see - dockline, short 18" pieces of line for tying things up while under sail, air horn, whistle, the cheap binoculars, bottle opener, bilge pump handle, fly swatter and winch handle.

Now his family has a lakehouse on Ouchita....we're going to spend a week up there in August, small group of us. He said they have a couple of boats in the boathouse, one a pontoon boat...that's gonna be great because I've always wanted to dive Ouchita. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Can I be your other brother Joe? I'd like to dive Ouachita too someday.
I have an acquaintance that keeps a houseboat on Quachita. He said it's a really awesome lake. Said you can anchor up in some of the coves and never see a boat or person for days.
We stopped off at Ouachita on our way to Little Rock last month. It was on the route we took, riding the Talimena Skyway. The small part I saw sure was beautiful....and I've seen lots of pictures and talked to divers who have made dives in the lake. It's cold down deep. The lake has some wicked thermoclines, so a drysuit is recommended for really deep dives...but they say you're rewarded with stunning vis...40'+ down there. I'm used to this as some of our lakes, like Possum Kingdom, have strong thermoclines. Surface may be 82, but down on the bottom at 85' it's 62. I've heard that Ouachita is worse, with temps in the high 40's down deep.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread...so...I'll keep a dive flag in the little lazerette....
Ha, this weekend I redid all my docklines, so I added some more transient lines to my lazerette, also put a rigging knife in there as well as my air horn and an emergency spare winch handle. I found so many old bumper in my dumpster that I was able to put them all around my slip as well as rig up a bumper as a "Stopper" for the bow with 4 lines tied to the dock Worked great.
Here's what I keep in mine: Butane canisters wrapped in pipe insulation Manual bilge pump handle Lanyard and kill "switch" for engine Flare and smoke kit Throw bag (for MOB) Small airhorn Whistle
We keep extra dock lines in there. Oh yea, and plenty of spiders! I'd like to make it a cooler, but we sleep aboard too much and I like the space below too much.
Some where I heard the locker in question referred to as the "captain's cooler". Like the rest of you, I kept the dock lines there. I just sold my 25 but wish I would have thought about deepening the locker, good idea.
