She looks good, best of luck! Confetti has weathered two direct hits by major storms (Alicia and Ike), so I am hoping the Black Pearl comes thu fine! You stay away from the water till this is over!
Great way to tie it and I hope it worked. In the Yorktown area we had 66 mph wind gusts and a 7+ foot storm surge. I really expected this to be the end of my boating experience, since my marina is not very protected and during Isabel there was a lot of damage. However, I did what I could and doubled all my lines and hoped for the best. I dare say, the boat 1979, Catalina 25, tall rig) came through with flying colors. I only had 1" of water in the bilge (we had 11" of rain). It was such a relief!
We went to Rocky Mount for the Hurricane since the eye was to pass about 10 miles to the east of us. Bummer: Motel lost power so we sat with no TV no AC and no internet. Sunday morning no Coffee. Here are some pictures of Black Pearl where I tied her to the trees on each side of the canal.
Center of canal
Tied side to side
After I got home (much worry with wind reports of 90 MPH.)
Black Pearl was sitting right where I left her.
Water is still high and I am waiting for it to go down.

If I have a reasonably warm, dry place to sleep, I can get by without tv or AC, but I can't get by without a shower, and our water at the marina is from a well. When we lost our electricity, we lost our pumps, which shut down our rest rooms and showers, so I've had to bathe with a cold, cold garden hose. I heard this morning that we are likely to have electricity again tomorrow. Oh, will tomorrow never come!

Thats why I have two "Sun Showers" we keep on the boat, and bring home when there is a hurricane threatening. A couple of hours in the sun and you have a nice warm (and can be hot) shower!!
Years ago we had a severe ice storm that brought down many trees, knocking out power. We were much better off than others, being without power for only 4 days. We have gas heat and hot water. Without electricity the furnace blower wouldn't work, but we had hot water for showering. With 2 fireplaces, a kerosene heater, all kinds of camping gear and an outdoor grill, we were able to stay reasonably warm and cook food. Later I bought a 4k generator and converted 1 fireplace to gas logs, so heat during a power outage will not be an issue. Unfortunately, we had to replace the water heater this year and, under current codes, the new water heater had to be moved to a different location and had to be vented outside with, you guessed it, an electric blower that will prevent it from working if there is a power failure. Talk about dumb! At least I'll be able to hook it up to a generator if we need to! Also, a battery backup is available.
