OJ, once it's all done, would you mind sharing ballpark pricing with us? I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $150-$200 to build the PVC-based system shown above, including the cost of a 20x30 tarp that will (hopefully) last me a few seasons.

I can remember when the 20x30 pvc tarps cost around $30 at HD. Think they're about double that now - which is what's motivating me to explore canvas. From my experience, after sun exposure, heat is the 2nd worst enemy of the PVC tarp.

That's what had me curious, too OJ. I got mine at Harbor Freight Tools while it was on sale (it's the heavy, gray colored tarp) and I think it was in the $60 range. As I understand it, the canvas will likely last 3-4 times the lifespan of the tarp. If a canvas can be made for a reasonable price consistent with those costs, I could justify the added up-front expense. Plus, I'm sure it would fit the boat better than my tarp does.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share!

I used Aqualon for my winter cover about 12 years ago. Still holding up well, but we are in Michigan
