I know I am going to regret this statement, but I'm sorry I pulled Passage out at the end of October this year.

All through November and December, our temperatures have been between 10-15 degrees warmer than usual. Last month, we hit the 60s for days in a row, and this month we've regularly had 50 degree afternoons.

This is not to say that the weather is balmy, but very doable for sailing. Right now, water temperatures in Long Island Sound are between 48 and 52 degrees!

I certainly would not want to be swimming in 50 degree water, as hypothermia would set in within 30 minutes to an hour, but this is extraordinary weather for Connecticut in December.

I'm hopeful that the winter continues to follow suite, but this warm weather is a little eerie. Our coldest time of year is traditionally between January 5th and 25th. We'll see what happens, I reckon.

I was thinking the same thing. My frost biting friends have said the wind conditions have also been close to perfect with dry suits only being used half the time . . . I may join in this winter if the conditions continue
