It worked great, guys. Thanks DavyJ for the idea. We used 3 people; I was at the mast, my buyer, Warren, was at the starboard genoa winch lowering the mast, his lady friend was at the cabintop jib halyard winch playing out the halyard as a safety line, and I was at the mast directing and keeping the mast centered. I secured the jib halyard to the bow (tack) snap shackle to use as a safety line. One note, the halyard needs to be longer than 78 ft. or put a 5-10 ft line between the halyard and the bow. We ran a bit short. After disconnecting the forward lowers and setting up the A-frame, I disconnected the forestay and secured it to the A-frame pin by running the pin through the open turnbuckle and running another long line from the A=frame pin down to a block at the bow and from there to the starboard genoa winch. Three wraps around the winch. Warren played out the line same as you would ease off the genoa sheet, by cupping your hand around the wraps and slowly turningthe line. Also, the U-shaped bar I set up at the transom, again thanks DavyJ, also worked very well. Sorry, no pics of the actual takedown, but I'll try to take some of the rig tomorrow.
