As to the spreader flag halyard, I have two. One on each spreader. A small block attached to a pad eye mid way on the spreader and both sides come down to a small cleat on the mast just above the boom. You can see one here. The line is 1/8'' braided. Under 6 bucks here http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001& storeId=11151& partNumber=179259& langId=-1& searchKeyword=179259Find some small inexpensive blocks and a platic cleat and save the $60.
