I recently had a pop top power lift assist kit installed by my boatyard on my '81 Cat 25. Soon after this was done the piston on the port side froze in the open position. Catalina Direct sent me a new piston, and it has also frozen in the open position. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this? Thanks.

Hyper extension due to improper placement?
It is rare that experience trumps concern. Do your own work.

My port side sticks too! It was the side that is no longer aligned with the hasp after I installed the kit. Warning, I did bust one of the three lower strut mount plate screws forcing it down.
