I have seen this on this forum before but I can't seem to find it now. Has anyone taken their boat off a trailer to stands? Not counting hurricanes, draw bridges, cranes or forklifts.
Clay - I've only taken mine off half way to do the bottm paint. I bought two sailboat stands from defender last year to do the job. I did the stern first by jacking up the trailer, placing the stands, removed the roller assemblies, prepped and painted half the hull, repeated the process for the bow half, done. I would assume the complete removal would be possible and I'm sure some folks have done it. Maybe someone can chime in on the complete removal.
Do you have rollers or bunks on your trailer? If you have rollers, you can brace the hull with a post jack and lower one rack at a time. Less time and less hardware to store when finished.
