One of my spring projects will be to rewire Karma and install a new electrical panel. In researching panels, I found a description of one with 3 meters(I like to monitor system performance)in the Catalina 25 Tech Manual 1 (page 13 & 14). This is a bad picture so I can't determine if it is custom made or off-the-shelf.

I would like to get some ideas as to the type of panels that others have used and also how many circuits should I plan. I would like to have extra breakers for possible future expansion beyond the 5 that were installed at the factory.

Thanks in advance

Tom

Probably something like a Blue Sea 1224:

They will do custom panels too.

You might be happier with a battery monitor though. They will keep track of charge and discharge rates giving you a view of battery capacity in addition to current and voltage. Xantrex makes a popular one, Victron (or a similar name) makes a cheaper model, and Blue Sea is coming out with one in a month or two.

Below is what I installed mainly to facilitate turning nav lights on from the cockpit. My original panel under the steps is still operating but most loads were moved to the new switch panel. The new switch panel is made by BEP. I also have two fans hooked up to a switch but have not yet added the "Fan" label.
