Finally splashed Pearl. I had a 2 week delay d/t a rough spot in the engine and thought I would get it checked out down here. Bad idea. I had to take the motor to Panama City, closest Mercury service, they don't stock parts for "baby engines" since most people consider 20-30 HP a kicker motor and the hourly service rate was a lot higher. It had a cracked nozzle in the carb - runs like a champ now. The launch ramp was great. I backed until my car wheel were a couple of feet from the water, took off the tiedowns and safety chain, tied off the bow and stern to the dock, unclipped the winch strap, backed until my rear tires were in 2-3 inches of water and pearl slid off the trailer. Easiest launch ever! Unfortunately, the channel out wasn't quite as nice, but I was in deep water after only two soft grounding in the marked channel. The marina manager had warned me to go well and around the "new nav-aid" that she pointed out before turning in for the marina.

I'll finish rigging tomorrow and probably make a run over to Eagle Harbor, but Crooked Island is on my list. I'm hoping to get the weather to go around the cape to Government Cut at St. George and up to Apalach and the GICW back to PSJ over a few days.
Actually not, still in PSJ Marina. Haven't got the genoa on yet. I decided that putting the 150 on while at my slip in 20 - 30 mph wind wasn't a real good idea. Loading the jenny and getting it cleaned up below is all I have left to do, just in time for the falling temperature and rain this week. The breeze has backed off now, so I'm headed up there shortly.
Finally rigged and ready, but the best it got was the SCA was downgraded to Small Craft Exercise Caution and thunderstorms in the forecast for a couple of days. Guess I'll do a little more cleaning and get my new fuel filter/water separator installed.
No shortage of wind. Been blowing 20-30 all morning, but it looks to be 15-20 now. I think it might be a sailing day on the bay. Still 4-6 on the Gulf, but that is supposed to drop to 2-3 by tomorrow. Still no prospect of doing my circle cruise outside to Apalach and back up the ICW, or reverse, any time soon.
