Warren, thanks for sharing. I would appreciate hearing your opinion of the material these are made from, e.g., treated to resist mildew, UV resistant and so on. They look easy to install and operate.
I did look at other options. Making curtains using the hardware from CD or Sailrite. The hardware alone would be $200 plus fabric, then the time making the curtains.
However I didn't like the sample. two pieces of plastic that slide over each other. You would always see the vertical stripes when opened. Plus they were even more expensive.
The picture gave me an idea. I took down some pleated shades from my bay window and since they're in good shape, I wrapped them in some dry cleaner bags and put them in the storage area. I might be able to cut them down, use the existing trim and control strings, add snaps and see whether I can slot them in. If it works ill get some photos. Even new the 48" wide shades cost ~$40. If that doesnt work out, I wonder if my home hardware store can trim down some new ones to fit?
