First apologies as I know there's been many discussions. That being said.
Want to make sure everything is checked out this season. Couple of years ago replaced entire keel winch/cable. For whatever reason didn't inspect pivot pin. Last season noticed a "klunk" while lowering keel at the point when almost fully lowered.
Want to make sure all ok however due to lack of time going to have yard handle before spring launch. Want to have any/all parts available if pin etc needs replaced while they're inspecting. Advise on what to order (and for that matter what to discuss with them what to look for while inspecting). Is there a good link for swing keel diagram to better understand construction, how to inspect etc.
I would just have everything replaced. I always replace the turning ball with a cable replacement, and CD's cable attachment fitting for the keel is very nice. My marina service dept. makes the cable for less than CD. If the pivot pin needs replacement, the hole in the keel has probably been enlarged. Repairing that is more complex, but I sleeved mine on the trailer in my driveway. I didn't replace the housings, and suspect that it is rarely necessary. Replace the bolts anytime you remove the housings to inspect the pin. CD's website or handbook might have a diagram. I just don't remember where I saw an enlarged one, but page 13 of the C. Parts Catalog under the Manuals and Brochures link on this site gives a decent view.
