I have a 2008 155 mylar genoa made by Waters sails in Columbia, SC. I want to sell the sail to get a new one cut for my new roller furling installation. The sail has been used every season for club racing except one that I dry hauled the boat for bottom and keel work.
I paid $2115.00 for this in 2008.
How much should I expect to recoup from a sail like this in the current market?
darn... if it was a 135, I'd be chomping... I already have a great number 1 and a practice number 1... I need a number 2 (and a 3 eventually).
I bet since it's a narrow audience... and already has 3 years on it (expected race life of 3-5 years), you are pushing to sell this to someone as a practice sail (I know still could race with it)... so we're talking hundreds, not a thousand (don't shoot me - seriously JUST the messenger)...
I know, it's got great life I am sure, and probably has 2-3 years of life left... but the loadpath, and D4 type sails are billed as a 3-5 year sail, where a dacron is raceable for 3-5, it's usable for easily 3-5 more as practice).
