I'm taking out the jug under the galley sink and replacing it with a tank under the v-berth. My question is where is the fill port on the boats that came with this tank? I was thinking of putting it someplace in the anchor locker. Also, where is the vent located? And how is the tank secured?

Sorry CJ, we have a 2005 WB and as mentioned above, it is located on the port side of the anchor locker (there is a bulge in the port wall of the locker to facilitate the filler. The vent is on the port front wall of the locker too, it's pretty much on the opposite side from the Water ballast vent.
We installed a flexible tank under the v-berth, it holds 26 gallons, the original hard side tank holds about 17 gallons, so we carry 43gallons.
Our system has a 2" T connector to join the hoses from the flexi tank fill and the hard tank fill and the filler tube up to the locker. The hose from the locker is accessed by laying on my back on the ballast tank under the v-berth and getting my head up into the space under the anchor locker. Best to have a buddy nearby, it gets awkward to get in and out of there.
Thanks for the info. My boat is a 1995 and I don't recall seeing a bulge. Also, my ballast tank vent is on front port side of the locker. Not the starboard side. I will be at the boat today and will look to see how it is laid out.
On another note, how is the vent? Does it have some screening over it or is it just open to the outside? It seems you would want something over it to prevent bugs ect. from getting in the tank/tube. However, I wasn't able to find anything at the boat store for this purpose.
Looked at the anchor locker and it does have a spot I can put the fill and vent. I hope to have this done with in a week. Thanks for your insight. Also, I am going to install the "water level sight gauge" mod.
