After spending a wonderful morning on a mooring ball at my favorite lake location I shifted to the forward position only to find my shifter was completely loose and had no effect. After getting back to my slip and talking with a dock mate who had a 250 prior to his 320 he indicated he had broken a cable on his Edson Pedestal just like I had and said it was difficult to get the cable out of the pedestal and replace it. I have downloaded some info off the Edson web site, but since the installation is a design build and I wasn't the original owner I have no specific information to get a download of my pedestal other than the serial number. Has anyone had this problem and do you have any suggestions on how to get the cable out of the pedestal without taking the entire wheel, shaft and chain apart?? HELP!!
Dan, sounds like you're assuming the cable is broken. Could the engine-end of the cable just have come unhooked from the engine? Worth a look anyway...
